Tuesday. A spectacular drive up the west coast of Scotland through Alloway (birth place of Robert Burns), Ayr, Troon, Largs and Gourock. Nice lunch at the Museum of the birthplace of Robert Burns. As I was born on Burns Night 25 January, I thought I should find out a bit more about the man himself.
And finally over the Erskine Bridge to Balfron north of Glasgow to visit my friend Dougie Hamilton. A lovely catch up and reminisce about the good old days at Ambleside. Dougie’s flat is in a converted church in the little village of Balfron. A great evening and lovely food in local pub.
To Loch Lomond and Mull of Kintyre tomorrow.
