1st May. Here we are in John o Groats after a drive of about 90 miles on mainly narrow single track roads with passing places. The scenery is still good but not as spectacular as that of the west coast seen over the last few days. From Durness the route took us along the sea loch, Loch Eribol, through Tongue, Portskerra, Melvich and Thurso. We took a detour to Dunnet Head lighthouse which is the most northerly point of mainland Scotland. And then finally to John O Groats.
