Thurs 5 May. Great weather today. Sunshine, no rain and so much warmer! Breezy conditions this morning at Helmsdale Harbour brought dramatic waves and breakers onto the beach. After Jack had s good run around we set off south. First stop was at Dunrobin Castle (home of the Earl of Sutherland), where we had a lovely walk through the forest and gardens and a run on the beach. We then passed through Golspie, Dornoch, over the bridge crossing Dornoch Firth. Then out to the tip of Tarbat Ness and lighthouse on the cliff edge with fantastic sea views. We had a look at the Glen Morangie Distillery on the way past. Unfortunately I don’t like whisky so didn’t participate. Then onwards to Invergordon and now finally settled for the night in campsite at Dingwall. Exhausted!
