29 July. Explored Looe town, very picturesque harbour, and then on to follow the coast as much as it was possible. The roads are extremely narrow with few passing places. I have done a lot of reversing to let people through including lots of tractors. I think I’m getting more used to these roads now but there are so many blind corners and very tight hairpin bends.
Went through Lanteglos, Polruan and Polperro, all tiny and not very accessible but got there. Stunning coastline. Then the ferry to Fowey (pronounced Foy). Unable to find a campsite with any space so did a pub stopover and had a lovely meal at The Four Lords Pub at Par. On Saturday moved on and we went to visit the Lost Gardens of Heligan near St Austell. The gardens were discovered in 1990, and the work has been ongoing ever since.Fantastic place, a mixture of formal renovated gardens, kitchen gardens as well as wild woodland and lots of resident animals now, including rare breeds. Now on a campsite at Veryan for the weekend. Very busy now it’s the school hols. Peace and quiet is over but Jack is getting lots of attention from children. Good phone and Internet signal too so can get some work done here.
